The seeds of democracy are sown early at GICL with a student council that is a link between the students and staff.

The Head boy and Head Girl lead the team. There is an investiture ceremony each year which is a solemn occasion for all office bearers to affirm their oath and accept their duties and responsibilities.

The council members belong to the four houses: Arthur, Percival, Tristram and Lancelot. The houses include Faculty advisors.

Regular house meetings, assemblies and inter house competitions generate healthy competitive spirit and values like loyalty and camaraderie.
