English is a core subject of the UK National Curriculum. Every subject draws on and develops pupil’s skills in English.

The literacy hour provides a systematic and structured approach to the areas of reading, speaking, listening and writing. Here they explore the use of language and the way it works. They learn to articulate clearly through voice modulation techniques and write to suit different situations and purposes.

Focused individual or group work initiates an activity before the lesson actually begins.
Audio CDS and video clippings enhance the love for the language and its learning. Learning through sight words and the key reading scheme is given due emphasis.

Mathematics follows suit. This curriculum is cyclical and concepts are revisited regularly and systematically. Usage and application mathematics is integrated throughout. This system is extended to other areas such as Science and ICT as well.

Mental calculations and strategies are targeted throughout the academics year.

They are categorized to match the students’ level of understanding Maths concepts. Regular 10-minute mental drill for the students enables them to quickly recall number facts.

Activities for maths concept are designed to reinforce the skills introduced in the part of lesson; maths puzzles and activity maths encourage children to make and justify their decisions.

Science is taught with a thematic and holistic approach where the concern is to encourage students to investigate the world around, by using scientific technique, thereby enabling them to gain a greater understanding of themselves and the world.

A child’s natural curiosity for its environment is fostered, so the child is initiated in questioning. Ideas are linked through enquires, investigation and exploration.

Through the interactive board, audio-visuals, scientific models, discussions, reasoning and questioning, children are encouraged to expand and challenge their own thinking.
